What is Remote Access service and what does it offer?

The Remote Access is as new service for registered users of SML providing an access to the external electronic information sources (EIS) subscribed by the library from any Internet location outside the library premises. Currently our library offers following external information sources through the remote access - EBSCO, OvidSP, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink as Wiley. The accessibility of full-texts is set by the licence agreement between Slovak Medical Library and the producer of as particular database.

How do Is find a way to full-texts?

You can use the Remote Access – EIS menu on the SMLmainpage and upon login you can get directly to the Remote Access site offering the accessible licensed databeses. It’s completely on your decision which database you are going to search. The only condition of remote access using is valid registration in Slovak Medical Library.

The ways of registering in the library:

SML offers several ways of registration for its potential users:

  • pre-registration from online catalogue with subsequent library visiting in person (registration acknowledgement and registration fee payment),
  • registration from education portal i-med (free of charge for registered users of i-med portal),
  • library visiting in person,
  • sending of filled in and verified application form and registration fee payment.
