$a A hexosaminidase specific for non-reducing N-acetyl-D-hexosamine residues in N-acetyl-beta-D-hexosaminides. It acts on GLUCOSIDES; GALACTOSIDES; and several OLIGOSACCHARIDES. Two specific mammalian isoenzymes of beta-N-acetylhexoaminidase are referred to as HEXOSAMINIDASE A and HEXOSAMINIDASE B. Deficiency of the type A isoenzyme causes TAY-SACHS DISEASE, while deficiency of both A and B isozymes causes SANDHOFF DISEASE. The enzyme has also been used as a tumor marker to distinguish between malignant and benign disease. $8 eng 450 $a beta-N-Acetylhexosaminidase $5 e $8 eng 450 $a beta-N-acetylhexozaminidáza $5 e $8 slo 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d012497 $Y Sandhoff Disease $5 F $a Sandhoffova choroba 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d013661 $Y Tay-Sachs Disease $5 F $a Tay-Sachsova choroba 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d012497 $Y Sandhoff Disease $5 B $a Sandhoffova choroba 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d013661 $Y Tay-Sachs Disease $5 B $a Tay-Sachsova choroba 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d020143 $Y Gangliosidoses, GM2 $5 B $a gangliozidózy GM2 686 $a D08.811.277.450.483.180 750 $a beta-N-Acetylhexosaminidases $8 eng 801 -0
