$a A carbamate derivative used as an alcohol deterrent. It is a relatively nontoxic substance when administered alone, but markedly alters the intermediary metabolism of alcohol. When alcohol is ingested after administration of disulfiram, blood acetaldehyde concentrations are increased, followed by flushing, systemic vasodilation, respiratory difficulties, nausea, hypotension, and other symptoms (acetaldehyde syndrome). It acts by inhibiting aldehyde dehydrogenase. $8 eng 450 $a Tetraethylthiuram Disulfide $5 e $8 eng 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d065086 $Y Acetaldehyde Dehydrogenase Inhibitors $5 P $a inhibítory acetaldehyddehydrogenázy 550 $3 sllk_un_auth*d000427 $Y Alcohol Deterrents $5 P $a prípravky na odvykanie od alkoholu 686 $a D02.241.081.251.869.220.250 686 $a D02.886.520.150.175 686 $a D02.886.706.200.200 750 $a Disulfiram $8 eng 801 -0
