Cieľom práce je dať ucelený obraz a prehľad o histórii a súčasnom stave malých vodných nádrží na území Slovenskej republiky. Práca začína definíciou, všeobecným členením, historickým vývojom a technickým riešením malých vodných nádrží a končí podrobnejším prehľadom vybraných malých vodných nádrží v povodí rieky Hron. Prostredníctvom tejto práce chcem poukázať na význam a potrebu malých vodných nádrží na území Slovenska. Kľúčové slová: malá vodná nádrž, hĺbka, objem, prietok, členenie, typy, technické riešenie, objekty, rekreácia Autorský abstrakt: I have made the dissertation „The Use of the Small Water Basin for Recreational Purposes“ at the Faculty of Gardening and Landscape Engineering, the Departement of Landscape Engineering, Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra. The goal of the dissertation is to give the compact picture and survey about the history and contemporary condition of small water basins on the territory of Slovak Republic. The dissertation begins by definition, then comes the general classification, the historic development and technical solution of small water basins and it ends with the survey of selected small water basins on the territory of the river Hron. Through the dissertation I like to emphasize the signification and necessity of small water basins on the territory of Slovakia.
