V roku 2010 sme zistili, že sa gibony chovali v 154 inštitúciách v počte 676 jedincov. Naším sledovaním sme dospeli k názoru, že najviac chovaným rodom je rod Hylobates zastúpený piatimi druhmi v počte 389, za ním nasleduje rod Nomascus, ktorý je reprezentovaný tromi druhmi s počtom jedincov 144, pričom rod Symphalangus je v jeho tesnom závese v počte 143 jedincov a je zastúpený jediným druhom. Rod Hoolock nie je chovaný v Európe. V rámci rodu Hylobates je najviac zastúpený druh Lar, ktorého populácia v rámci celého rodu tvorí vyše 70% a v rode Nomascus je najviac zastúpený druh Gabriellae, pričom jedinci tohto druhu predstavujú takmer 50% z rodu. Z celkového počtu gibonov chovaných v Európe je najrozšírenejší druh Lar (281). Druhy Lar, Gabriellae a siamang sme porovnávali aj v rokoch 2008 a 2009 a zistili sme, že u druhov Lar a Gabriellae došlo k nárastu počtu inštitúcií, ktoré tieto druhy chovajú, u druhu Lar je nárast o 9 inštitúcií a u druhu Gabriellae pozorujeme nárast o 4 inštitúcie. U siamanga došlo k poklesu o 15 inštitúcii. K nárastu počtu jedincov došlo len u druhu Lar (o 40 jedincov), u druhu Gabriellae zostáva počet chovaných jedincov približne na rovnakej úrovni, ako v predchádzajúcich rokoch a u siamanga pozorujeme pokles až o 37 jedincov. Na Slovensku je chovaný iba druh Nomascus Gabriellae v počte 8 jedincov, pričom pomer pohlavia je 50:50. V rokoch 2008 – 2010 sa na našom území narodili celkovo 3 mláďatá. Autorský abstrakt: Our aim has been observation and analyzing of the number of breeding gibbon in the individual institution in Europe, registered in the organization European Association of ZOOs and Aquaria and International Species Information System. In 2010 we are found out that the gibbon breeding in the 154 institution in number 676 singulars. Our monitoring we are concluded that the most breed is genus Hylobates represented five species in number 389, after genus Nomascus, who is represented of three species with number singulars 144, whereby genus Symphalangus is represented the only one species in number 143 singulars. Genus Hoolock is not breed in the Europe. In genus Hylobates is most represented species Lar, who constitutes 70% and in the genus Nomascus is most represented species Gabriellae, who constitutes 50% and in the genus. From of the total of the number of gibbon cradled on the Continent is most widespread species Lar (281). Species Lar, Gabriellae and siamang we compare in years 2008 and 2009 and we found out that the at species Lar and Gabriellae species arrive to grow of the number of institution, who these species breed, species Lar is grow about 9 institution and in species Gabriellae observe grow about 4 institutions. Siamang have fall about 15 institution. Grow of the number of singulars arrive only at species Lar (about 40 singulars), at species Gabriellae stays number breed singulars on the same level how in the previous ages and at siamanga observe fall about 37 singulars. In Slovakia is bred only species Nomascus Gabriellae in number of 8 singulars, proportion sex is 50:50. In years 2008 – 2010 in Slovakia birth total 3 young.
