Práca sa zameriava na historické, urbanistické, priestorové, krajinárske a environmentálne hodnoty riešeného územia. V literárnom prehľade sa práca zameriava na vývoj ľudských osídlení a prvých veľkých civilizácii v blízkosti vodných tokov. Hodnotí úpravy vodných tokov z dôvodu protipovodňovej ochrany, neskoršiu obnovu vzťahu človeka a rieky v spojitosti s rekreačným využitím riek a nábreží v mestách. Práca obsahuje projektovú rešerš vybraných prístupov k riešeniu nábreží vo svete. Pre dosiahnutie stanoveného cieľa boli v praktickej časti uplatnené komplexné analýzy, interpretácie a vyhodnotenia súčasného stavu vybraného úseku nábrežia rieky Nitra v meste Nitra. Z vykonaných analýz a ich hodnotení vyplynuli hlavné nedostatky súčasného stavu vybraného úseku nábrežia, ktorými sú zamedzenie prístupu k rieke a nedostatočné vybavenie riešeného územia aktivitami pre dlhodobé trávenie času v blízkosti rieky. Na záver práca ponúka výhľady na možnosti budúceho návrhu nábrežia so zameraním na elimináciu zistených nedostatkov riešeného územia. Author’s abstract: The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the current state of a selected section of the Nitra River and its riverfront in the regional city of Nitra. The thesis focuses on the historical, urban, spatial, landscape and environmental properties of the area. In terms of literature review, the thesis concentrates on the development of human settlements and the first major civilizations in the vicinity of watercourses. It evaluates the modification of watercourses to provide flood protection, the later restoration of the human-river relationship in association with the recreational use of rivers and riverfronts in cities. The thesis also includes a project research of selected approaches to riverfront design in the world. In order to achieve the stated goal, comprehensive analyses, interpretations and evaluations of the current state of a selected section of the Nitra River embankment in the city of Nitra were applied in the practical part. Based on the conducted analyses and their evaluations, here emerged the main deficiencies of the current state of the selected section of the riverfront, amongst which are the prevention of the access to the river and the insufficient facilities of the designed area considering long-term leisure time activities near the river. In the summary, the thesis offers perspectives on the possibilities for future design of the riverfront, focusing on the elimination of the identified deficiencies of the analysed area.
