Sú v nej zahrnuté celosvetové výskumy vedcov a odborníkov, ktorí skúmali v svojich štúdiách vznik mutácie pre konkrétnu dedičnú poruchu. Pri písaní tejto záverečnej práce sme využívali najmä internetové zdroje zo zahraničných vedeckých článkov a prác. Prvá kapitola sa zameriava na pôvod psa, jeho zaradenie, plemenitbu, dedičnosť a spôsoby dedičnosti. V druhej kapitole sa venujeme komerčným firmám, ktoré na Slovensku ponúkajú testovanie genetických vlastností. Medzi tieto komerčné firmy patrí Slovgen s. r. o., Laboklin s. r. o. a VetGene. Medzi najčastejšie testované dedičné vlastnosti psi psoch radíme degeneratívnu myelopatiu, progresívnu retinálnu atrofiu a jej formy, viacnásobnú liekovú rezistenciu, dwarfizmus (hypofyzárny nanizmus), von Willebrandovu chorobu a jej typy, spongióznu cerebelárnu degeneráciu s cerebelárnou ataxiou, epilepsiu – juvenilnú epilepsiu a Lafora epilepsiu, hyperurikosúriu a testovanie osrstenia u psov. V závere práce sa venujeme poukázaniu na dôležitosť testovania genetických vlastností a správnemu výberu rodičovského páru selekciou, nakoľko pri riadenej reprodukcií psov sa mnoho chovateľov snaží eliminovať prejav nežiadúcich vlastností. Genetické testovanie nám umožňuje odhaliť genotyp jedincov s genetickou predispozíciou pre vznik či prenos dedičného ochorenia a tak môžeme zvoliť pri plemenitbe jedince, po ktorých sa nevyskytnú šteňatá s genetickou mutáciou. Author’s abstract: This diploma thesis deals with the testing of genetic traits by commercial companies in dogs. It includes worldwide research by scientists and experts who have investigated in their studies the occurrence of a mutation for a particular inherited disorder. In writing this thesis, we have mainly used internet sources from foreign scientific articles and papers. The first chapter focuses on the origin of the dog, its classification, breeding, inheritance and modes of inheritance. The second chapter deals with commercial companies that offer genetic testing in Slovakia. These commercial firms include Slovgen s.r.o., Laboklin s.r.o. and VetGene. The most commonly tested hereditary traits in dogs include degenerative myelopathy, progressive retinal atrophy and its forms, multiple drug resistance, dwarfism (pituitary dwarfism), von Willebrand's disease and its types, spongiform cerebellar degeneration with cerebellar ataxia, epilepsy - juvenile epilepsy and Lafora epilepsy, hyperuricosuria and hair testing in dogs. In the conclusion of the paper we point out the importance of testing for genetic traits and proper selection of the parental pair by selection, since in controlled reproduction of dogs many breeders try to eliminate the expression of undesirable traits. Genetic testing allows us to detect the genotype of individuals with a genetic predisposition for the development or transmission of inherited disease and thus we can select in breeding individuals that do not produce puppies with genetic mutations.
