Diplomová práca (Ing.). - Ústav rastlinných a environmentálnych vied FAPZ SPU v Nitre Subject-s diplomové práce Annotation Autorský abstrakt: Cieľom diplomovej práce, ktorá bola vypracovaná na tému Reprodukcia chameleóna jemenského (Chamaeleo calyptratus), bolo podrobne popísať rozmnožovanie uvedeného druhu. V prvej časti sme stručne charakterizovali chameleóna jemenského, jeho anatómiu, podnebie v ktorom žije a jeho systematické zatriedenie. Ďalej sme popísali rozmnožovanie samotných jašterov ako aj rozmnožovanie rôznych druhov chameleónov. Pozornosť sa sústredila hlavne na chameleóna jemenského, a to od reprodukcie, cez oplodnenie až po znášku, a následnú inkubáciu a liahnutie mláďat. Ak je samica ochotná páriť sa, sfarbí sa do bledozelenej farby, a na koži sa jej môžu objaviť jasné modré fľaky. Gravidita u chameleóna jemenského trvá 20 – 30 dní. Po tejto dobe kladie samica najčastejšie okolo 30 – 40 kožovitých vajec, ktoré zahrabáva do substrátu. Vajíčka sa inkubujú v pripravených inkubátoroch, v nádobách s vhodným substrátom, pri teplote 20 až 30 °C. Po približne 200 dňoch sa liahnu mláďatá s dĺžkou okolo 5,3 – 7,6 cm. Mladé chameleóny sa kŕmia octomilkami alebo mikro cvrčkami a možno pridávať aj vitamínové a minerálne doplnky. Zistili sme, že najvhodnejšie teploty na inkubáciu vajec chameleóna sú v rozmedzí 27,6 °C - 28,1 °C. Ďalej sme zistili, že pri nízkych teplotách sa zvyčajne liahnu samci a pri vysokých naopak samice. Author’s abstract: The aim of our diploma work, in which we have focused on Reproduction of the veiled chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus), was to describe breeding of this chameleon. In the first part we briefly described the veiled chameleon, his anatomy, the climate in which the chameleon lives, and classification. Further we described the breeding of lizards, and the breeding of other chameleon species. In more detail we described the breeding of the veiled chameleon, from reproduction to fertilization, egg laying, the following incubation and hatching of the baby chameleons. If the female is willing to mate, she will change the color of her skin to light green, and there will be blue spots visible. The gravidity of the veiled chameleon lasts for 20 – 30 days. After this time, the female chameleon lays approximately 30 – 40 leathery eggs, which she buries in the substrate. We incubate the eggs in the prepared incubator, in containers with suitable substrate, at the temperature between 20 – 30 °C. After approximately 200 days the baby chameleons hatch, with the length of 5.3 – 7.6 cm. The hatchlings are fed with fruit flies and micro crickets, along with vitamin and mineral supplements. In the practical part of our work, we found out, that the best temperature for incubating chameleon eggs is in the range of 27.6 °C - 28.1 °C. Further we found out, that when incubating at low temperatures, usually males hatch. On the other side, when incubating at higher temperatures, we get more females.
