Linux je na základe GPL licencie voľne šíriteľný a zadarmo. V práci sa budeme zaoberať opísaním najznámejších a najpoužívanejších linuxových distribúcií a ich porovnaním s komerčným softvérom MS Windows. Je tu uvedené ekonomické porovnanie pracovných staníc bežiacich pod OS Linux a MS Windows. Ďalej budú vytipované linuxové distribúcie na zabezpečenie chodu organizácie. Zadefinujú sa požiadavky a kritériá na základe ktorých budeme príslušné distribúcie hodnotiť. Keďže na trhu je obrovský výber softvéru, popíšeme vytypovaný softvér pre určité činnosti ktoré sa v organizácii vykonávajú. Popíšeme špedičný dopravný systém, ktorý organizácia používa vo svojich nákladných automobiloch. V závere práce zhodnotíme výberový nekomerčný softvér a navrhneme konkrétne aplikácie použiteľné pre organizáciu. Autorský abstrakt: The main theme of this thesis will be using of Linux and its applications in operation dealing with the manufacture, sale and distribution of plastic windows and doors. Based on the GPL license Linux can be distributed freely and is for free. In this Thesis we will deal with the description of the best known and most used Linux distributions and its comparison to the commercial software MS Windows. There is mentioned financial comparison of workstations running OS Linux and MS Windows. Furthermore, we will set focus on Linux distributions for basic needs of an organization. There will be defined requirements and criteria for evaluation of related distributions. As there is huge offer for software in the market, we will define and describe software for certain operations commonly used by an organization. We will describe forwarding transport system used by an organization in their truck vehicles.At last we will evaluate the defined non-commercial software and suggest specific applications useful for an organization.
