It also regulates the release of neurotransmitters, transport of synaptic vesicles, and localization of DOPAMINE D2 RECEPTORS. Mutations in the DTNBP1 gene are associated with Type 7 HERMANSKY-PUDLAK SYNDROME and SCHIZOPHRENIA.
